What is insured?

Organisation and assumption of costs for on-site breakdown and accident assistance.

In the event of an accident or breakdown, sudden incapacity to drive on the part of the insured person or theft of the insured person's bicycle / e-bike, we will cover the return of the insured and injured person to the place of residence or the onward journey to the destination up to a maximum of CHF 300 (per event and injured person).

If the return journey is not possible on the same day, we will also pay for an overnight stay up to a maximum of CHF 120.- per injured insured person.

Upon occurrence of the insured event, ACS Assistance must be informed immediately and its consent to any Assistance measures or to their assumption of costs must be obtained.

I am with my bike and the child trailer on the way from Thalwil to pick up my children at the grandparents in Zurich. Shortly before I reach my destination, my bike hits a tram track and I fall. Am I covered?

We will organise accident assistance for you as well as transport of the bicycle and the towed child trailer to the nearest repair shop.

We assume the costs for the onward journey of the injured, insured person to the destination as well as for the collection of the repaired vehicle up to a maximum of CHF 300.

Costs for the journey home from Zurich will not be reimbursed. If only the the trailer is damaged, no benefits will be paid.

I'm going on a bike tour through Switzerland with friends. On the third day on my way to breakfast at the hotel, I tripped on the stairs and broke my leg. Am I covered?

Unless a fellow traveler can return the bicycle: Organisation and assumption of costs for the pick-up of the bicycle of the insured, injured member and assumption of the costs for the return journey of the insured, injured member up to a maximum of CHF 300.

My daughter rents a bike in the city of Zurich and has a breakdown. Is she covered?

Insured are bicycles driven by the insured person (own or borrowed).

Rented bicycles are not insured.

A discharged battery is not an insured event.

I am planning a cycling vacation in Corsica. If I had a breakdown, would I also be covered?

Unfortunately not, since the insurance coverage is only valid in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
